Today on my instagram I have been sharing a few NYE traditions I have as a Pagan. These traditions range from making wassail to opening your back and front door at midnight so all the old year flows through to let the new year energy in.
I also like to make a Lemon charm.
Really simple, this is inspired by Lelands Aradia. This spell can be used to bless the home for the coming year. It is appropriate to make this charm to give as a gift, for to receive one in such a manner is said to bring the added blessing of a prosperous and joyful life.
All you need is a lemon, 3 ribbons and coloured pins!
Braid the ribbons together saying:
Health and Power,
Prosperity
Love, sex and creativity.
Repeat the chant until you have finished your braid. Now stick the pins into the lemon until it is entirely covered with an array of coloured pins.
Attach the braid the the lemon so it can be hung in the home. When it is hung (at midnight) say:
As midnight strikes its final chime
The power of this spell unfolds
Abundant blessings all sublime
Upon this house are now bestowed.
